About the event

Raise a finger if you've ever:

  • said yes to something you didn't want to do just to avoid disappointing someone.
  • pretended to agree with someone just to keep the peace, even though you had a different opinion.
  • hidden your true feelings or desires because you were afraid of how others might react.
  • apologized excessively, even when you didn't do anything wrong, just to smooth things over.
  • agreed to take on more work or responsibilities than you could handle because you didn't want to disappoint others.
  • struggled to say no to someone, even when you knew it was the right thing for you.
  • felt guilty for prioritizing your own needs over someone else's.
  • realized that by saying yes to others, you were saying no to yourself

If you've raised 3 or more fingers, then this workshop is for you. The "people-pleasing" behavior is complex and multifaceted and could be influenced by a combination of factors experienced during your childhood. Whether that's fear of conflict by witnessing it in your family, role modeling a parent who prioritized others' needs over their own, or learning that love and approval are conditional upon meeting certain standards, etc, the reasons can be infinite.

The first step into learning how to be an authentic communicator is to notice these traits listed above and recognize when we're not communicating in our truth and when we're sacrificing our own needs to avoid conflict or please others.

Through interactive activities, discussions, and practical exercises, Aimee Baxter, a leadership coach, will guide a group of 25 women on how to develop skills to navigate difficult conversations, set boundaries, and cultivate genuine connections. We're keeping the group to a maximum of 25 to create a safe, intimate space for all participants to share their own struggles with communicating authentically.

In this immersive workshop you'll learn effective tools to:

  • Connect deeper with your authentic self's worth, needs and values
  • Communicate with clarity and confidence at work, in intimate relationships and with friends/family
  • Say no to people and situations that are not in alignment with what you are committed to creating in your work and life
  • Navigate conflict with compassion and set healthy boundaries
  • Cultivate relationships that everyone feels heard and valued and are based on trust, love and honest
