Fashion & Sustainability
Women have been shaped by the fashion industry, making clothes a core part of our identity. From Carrie Bradshaw's shopping sprees to Gen Z's Shein obsessions, trends drive our buying habits. It's time to face the truth—the fashion industry contributes 2-8% of global carbon emissions. Let change it!

About the event
Raise your hand if you've ever loaded up a cart with clothes you probably didn't need, but the website made it too easy to click 'buy' and gave you that instant dopamine boost. Yep, it's quite a feeling!
As women, we've experienced how fashion pop culture (hello sex and the city) and trends like TikTok/YouTube hauls had a big influence on our consuming habits. I used to joke about 'boosting the economy' during those hours-long mall shopping sprees or as Carrie said "Shopping is my cardio"—I thought I was funny, but little did I know that my behavior was detrimental to the planet.
Can't ignore the hard truth NOW—the fashion industry is responsible for like 2% to 8% of global carbon emissions. Changing the fashion industry standards and consumer behaviors are super hard but not impossible and that’s what we’re gonna talk about on 11/2 with leading experts in the sustainable fashion space.
Come join us on 11/2 at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm) for a panel on “Fashion & Sustainability” moderated by the one and only Alden Wicker - award-winning journalist and author of the fast selling book “To Dye For, How Toxic Fashion Is Making Us Sick” and Founder and Editor-in-Chief of EcoCult.
We'll have a book-signing pop-up where you'll be able to purchase Alden's book and even get a personalized note!
Alden will engage with the co-founder of The Knotty Ones, a sustainable knitwear label and two fashion-tech founders re-inventing the ecosystem to reduce waste.
After the panel, you’ll be able to mingle and connect with other sustainable baddies (sustainable designers, brands, fashion trailblazers, influencers, podcasters) while sipping on champagne, eating fancy girl dips and dancing to the vibes of our incredible DJ, Aimee Baxter, leadrship coach by day and talented DJ by night. Pretty incredible already, right? But hold on, there's more! Post-panel, we'll also have a space to have a closet-swapping party (OG of sustainable fashion) so bring along your unwanted clothes and discover a fabulous pre-loved outfit to take home
